Bhubaneswar: In a significant step towards strengthening affordable housing for the economically weaker sections (EWS), the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HDFC Bank to facilitate housing loans for eligible beneficiaries under the Affordable Housing Scheme.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Minister of Housing & Urban Development, Mayor Sulochana Das, BMC Commissioner Chanchal Rana, and senior BMC officials.
Representing HDFC Bank at the signing ceremony were Arjunananda Bagh (Senior Vice President & Zonal Head), Sushant Kumar Panigrahi (Senior Vice President & Zonal Head), and Animesh Biswal (Senior Vice President & Cluster Head), who reiterated the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion and community welfare.
Lauding HDFC Bank’s initiative, Minister Dr. Mohapatra praised the bank’s proactive approach to empowering the underprivileged and urged continued support through the implementation of this and other flagship schemes of the State and Central Governments.
Mayor Sulochana Das and Commissioner Chanchal Rana expressed appreciation for the initiative and emphasised BMC’s efforts to ease the loan facilitation process for applicants. Rana assured that BMC would extend full support to ensure smooth implementation, furthering the vision of making Bhubaneswar an inclusive and aspirational city.
