Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has issued a notice asking people not to keep defunct vehicles, food carts, wooden thelas (push carts), rickshaws, and unused tyres on the road to prevent creating insanitation and public health issues.
The notification warns that if the directive in this connection is not followed, the BMC will lift such items to make the area clean.
Such activities cause obstruction/encroachment of public /government places, and sanitation hazards by creating grounds for the breeding of mosquitoes, degrading the aesthetics of the city, and causing a loss of reputation to the city.
