Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced the resumption of ration card issuance to eligible beneficiaries in the city. This decision comes after a special meeting held under the chairmanship of Mayor Sulochana Das, attended by standing committee chairmen and corporators.

As per the latest update, 3,255 families have been deemed eligible out of 15,087 applications received for new ration cards. The BMC will conduct E-KYC for eligible beneficiaries at its three zone offices starting July 21. Mayor Das has urged corporators to cooperate with eligible families in completing the E-KYC process, ensuring citizens can avail of this facility.

Currently, around 103,000 households in the BMC area possess ration cards. The BMC has assured that ration cards will be issued to eligible beneficiaries through the portal following the government’s order to restart the process, which had been halted since 2022
