Bhubaneswar: The body of the passenger who had gone missing after a private motorboat capsized in Chilika Lake yesterday was fished out after around 19 hours on Friday.
The deceased identified as Rajkishore Khuntia of Balugaon had gone missing after the boat with 12 passengers, who were returning after Kalijai darshan, capsized.
A joint team of Odisha Fire Services and Navy had launched an operation to trace Khuntia after the boat tragedy. His body was finally recovered from Kharibandha today.
Reportedly, the boat was caught in a heavy storm triggered by the nor’wester (Kal Baisakhi). Eleven passengers could be saved because they were wearing life jackets.
