Dhenkanal: Bodies of two children, who had been missing since Saturday evening, were found floating in a well near their house in Natkata village under Madhusahu Patna Panchayat in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
According to reports, the two children – Ranjit Pradhan (5) and Sanjit Pradhan (4) – were missing went missing while playing near their house on Saturday evening. Their father Company Pradhan and mother Saraswati Pradhan left their four sons and daughters at home on Saturday evening to harvest paddy in their field. When they returned, the two sons were missing.
The villagers and Bhapur police searched for the children throughout the evening and abandoned the search temporarily as it was dark. On Sunday morning, they resumed their search and spotted the two children floating in a well a short distance from the house.
Later, both the dead children were rescued from the well and their bodies were sent for post-mortem. A pall of gloom descended on the village as the news of the death of the two minor children spread.
