Bodies Of Love Birds Recovered From River

**Balasore: ** The body of the youth identified as Soumya Ranjan Dhal (25) of Sungamunha village, who had jumped into river Subarnarekha along with her girl friend onSunday, was found by the fire department personnel on Thursday morning after three days of search operation in river Subarnarekha.

Notably, a young couple had reportedly committed suicide by jumping into the river on Sunday afternoon. According to sources, Soumya was in a love affair with a 18-year-old girl, Lilimani Sethy of Bishnupur village under Baliapal police limits who was pursuing her intermediate in Krushna Chandra Pipili Mahavidyalaya.

Sources said they wanted to tie the knot but their family members had not approved their move for marriage as they belonged to different castes. The couple allegedly went to the banks of the river at 5 p.m on Sunday evening and jumped into the river. A cousin of the girl raised alarms and informed the fire department who had started to search for the couple. But due to darkness, they dropped the rescue operation and resumed it the next day.

The fire fighters had traced the body of Nilima Sethy on December 20 but the whereabouts of the boy was still untraceable.

The bodies of the couple were handed over to the respective families after post-mortem by the local police.
