Baripada: Bhanjpur police on Sunday recovered the body of a person from Jamsholi forest near the Subarnarekha canal under Betanati police limits.
The deceased has been identified as Salkhu Marandi, a land owner from Ward No 19 of the Baraisahi area in Baripada. He has been missing since the last five days.
Police suspect that Marandi was murdered over a land dispute. After the crime, the miscreants tried to conceal the identity of the deceased by pouring acid on his body.
Bhanjpur police have detained three people in connection with the crime for interrogation.
