Bhubaneswar: In an outrageous incident, a newly married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Jalipatna village under Mancheswar police limits in the capital city of Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Laxmipriya of Diasahi, who hailed from Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district. While the exact cause of Laxmipriya’s death is yet to be ascertained, her family members alleged that she was strangled to death by her husband and in-laws.
According to reports, Laxmipriya was married to Prabhat Parida about two years back but the couple was not happy with each other.
The victim’s relatives alleged that the couple engaged in a dispute on Wednesday night and this might have led Laxmipriya’s in-laws to kill her.
They have lodged a complaint at the Maheshwar police station following which police have started an investigation. Police seized her body and sent it for autopsy. A probe into the woman’s death is underway.
