Bhubaneswar: The body of a 43-year-old man with his throat slit was recovered from his house in Sagua village under Balianta police limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Saturday evening. According to police, unidentified miscreants killed him by slitting his throat with a sharp-edged weapon.
The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Nayak, who was running a hotel in Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, Biswajit resided in Bhubaneswar and had gone to the village a few days back and was living in a separate house instead of staying with his father.
The deceased’s younger brother Ranjit called him over the phone on Saturday but received no response. Later, Ranjit asked one of his family members to visit Biswajit’s house. When the relative reached the deceased’s house on Saturday evening, he detected a foul smell coming from the house. When he peeped into the house through the window, the relative saw Biswajit lying dead in a pool of blood covered by a blanket.
On being informed, local police reached the village and launched a probe. The family members and villagers are being interrogated in connection with the incident. A forensic team has also reached the village for investigation.
