Bhubaneswar: The Collector and District Magistrate of Bolangir Chanchal Rana has initiated action in connection two matters related to poll code violation.
In one of the cases, the Collector has ordered suspension of a Government school teacher for his alleged involvement in campaigning. The teacher in this case, Taranisen Pradhan of Lukapada school has been placed under suspension.
In another case, related to auction of Sarpanch post, the Bolangir Collector has asked Puintala BDO to lodge police complaint against a candidate and a few others, linked to this matter.
The Puintala BDO was directed to file a complaint against Sushant Chhatria, who won the auction for Sarpanch post conducted by the locals. The BDO was also asked to name others associated with the auction in the police complaint.
The State Election Commission had sought a report from the Bolangir Collector in connection with the auction incident.
