Bolangir: Bolangir police have cracked the much-talked-about murder case of police constable Sankarbhanu Behera.
The police have arrested six persons in connection with the murder case from outside the State. Police said the murder was in connection with the diamond business.
According to reports, the accused persons had fled the spot after murdering police constable Sankarbhanu Behera of Sonepur district in Room No. 212 of Hotel Indraprastha near Bolangir railway station on May 16.
Police apart from seizing constable Behera’s body examined documents and CCTV footage of the hotel. Based on the findings police constituted three special teams. These teams went to Kolkata, Gaya and Jalandhar. Police have been able to arrest six persons accused of the murder.
The accused persons have been identified as Pankaj Kumar and Suraj Kumar Barnwal of Jharkhand, Krushna Meher of Angul district, Manoranjan Sathua of Boudh district, Nitai Kar of Sonepur district and Rohit Sa of Bolangir district.
