Bhubaneswar: As many as 12 places in Odisha witnessed temperature above 40°Celsius temperature on Thursday.
Bolangir recorded the highest 43 °Celsius temperature while Baripada recorded the lowest temperature with 38.6 degree in the state.
Similarly, places which experienced above 40 degree Celsius are Nuapada (42.3°Celsius), Boudh (41.8°Celsius), Malkangiri (41.5°Celsius), Jharsuguda (41,3°Celsius), Sambalpur (40.8°Celsius), Bargarh (40.8°Celsius), Nayagarh (40.5 °Celsius), Talcher (40.2°Celsius), Sonepur (40.1°Celsius), Khurda (40°Celsius) and Sundargarh (40 °Celsius).
Going by the latest IMD predictions, heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Bargarh, Bolangir, and Nuapada. Thunderstorms with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at one or two places in Bolangir, Boudh, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
