**Bolangir: ** In a shocking incident, 22-year-old Kunti and her boy friend were rescued from a forest in wee hours today the district here. The couple allegedly entered into a suicide pact and consumed poison.
According to the report, Kunti’s marriage was fixed with her cousin. However, she was in a relationship with another guy from nearby Antapalli village.
As both were unable to convince their respective parents about their relationship, both decided to end their lives. Later that night Kunti ran away from his home before the marriage was to be solemnised.
The duo went to Patara forest under Loisinga block and consumed poison and attempted suicide.
In the early morning when the locals came to know about this incident, they rushed the couple to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. While the girl’s condition was stated to be stable, the boy was still in a critical condition.
