Bolangir: A man in Gandhla village under Sindhekela police limits of Bolangir district died by suicide after having lost Rs 10 lakh in the stock market.
The deceased has been identified as Binod Kumar Yadav of Gandhla village.
According to reports, Binod Kumar Yadav of Gandhla village had given Rs 10 lakh to one Omprakash of Delhi to invest in the stock mark for getting the amount doubled.
While Yadav had invested Rs 3 lakh from his own funds, he had borrowed Rs 7 lakh from others.
Yadav used to work in a private company in Delhi, it was here he developed acquaintance with Omprakash who used to invest in the stock market.
Overcome by greed to get his money doubled, Yadav through Omprakash invested Rs 10 lakh in the stock market out of which Rs 3 lakh was from his own funds and the remaining Rs 7 lakh was borrowings from fellow villagers.
However, as ill luck would prevail Yadav lost all the money in the stock market and was under severe mental stress.
He had come to his native village on the occasion of Nuakhai and was mentally disturbed as those who had lent him money wanted it back
Unable to bear the mental stress, Yadav on Tuesday evening consumed poison. His family members rushed him to Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital here in critical condition. He succumbed while undergoing treatment.
