Bhubaneswar: Sensation prevailed outside the main gate of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Gadakana under Mancheswar police limits in the state capital today due to the explosion of a crude bomb.
According to reports, although no one was hurt in the explosion, it caused panic among the commuters. The blast, which occurred at Gate No. 3, sent shockwaves through the local area and the school.
It was learnt that the bomb was being carried by miscreants who were attempting to flee when it exploded. The police suspect that the bomb was intended for a larger attack and have launched an investigation into the incident.
The Mancheswar police team is currently at the scene, and multiple CCTV cameras in the area are being examined to identify the perpetrators.
