Dhenkanal: In an ill-fated incident, a crude bomb planted for poaching wild boars in a forest exploded inside the mouth of a cow. The incident took place in the Katumunda forest area under Mahavir Road Forest Range in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
According to reports, cattle belonging to Salli Behera of Katumunda had gone inside the forest to graze and a cow gulped a crude bomb planted to trap wild boars which one of the cows swallowed. The bomb exploded inside the cow’s mouth injuring the animal critically.
On being informed, a forest guard of Ghagaramunda Forest Beat, Prabhanjan Behera, reached the spot and informed the veterinarian about the incident. The cow is under treatment for the injury inside its mouth cavity.
