Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday unearthed unaccounted assets worth several crores, including two flats in Bhubaneswar, two commercial shopping outlets in Utkal Galleria Mall in Bhubaneswar, an advance of Rs 2.23 crore paid for purchase of two more flats in Bhubaneswar and Bengaluru, cash worth Rs 1.16 lakh, and fixed deposits worth crores during simultaneous house searches at properties linked to Basanta Kumar Mohapatra, RTO of Boudh district.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Mohapatra and his family members:
- Flat No. 307 at Utkal Signature at Pahala in Bhubaneswar with area approximate area of 3000 sqft worth Rs 1 crore.
- Commercial shopping outlets Nos.4 & 5 at Utkal Kanika Galleria Mall, Gautam Nagar in Bhubaneswar with an approximate area of 2500 sqft worth about Rs 2 crore.
- A 3-BHK flat No. B/83 at Utkal Royal Residency, Kalpana Square in Bhubaneswar worth approximately Rs 1 crore.
- Advance Rs 1.35 crore was paid to a realtor by Mohapatra for the purchase of a 5-BHK flat vide flat No. 2504, Block-4, Iconic Tower, Z-1 Estate, Kalarahanga in Bhubaneswar with an area of 1776 sqft.
- An advance of Rs 88 lakh was paid by Mohapatra to purchase a flat vide No. F-1002 in Ozone Elegant-WF-48 at Bengaluru city.
- The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above flats and commercial complex are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
- Cash to the tune of Rs 1,16,700.
- FD worth crores are suspected to be in various bank accounts. Bank, postal, insurance, and other deposits are being ascertained.
The searches are continuing and a further report is expected.
