**Bhubaneswar:** After lending a helping hand to the flood victims in the southern state of Kerala, a team of 123 Odisha Fire Services members reached Bhubaneswar amid kudos today morning.
The team arrived in a special aircraft from Kerala at around 11 am. The brave hearts received a warm welcome and were generously thanked for their display of valour and humanity in Kerala.
Another 123-member team had arrived on Thursday night.
Notably on August 18, 245 personnel of the Odisha Fire Services had been deployed by the State Government to carry out rescue operations and relief work in flood-hit Kerala.
The team had been divided into two units, one deployed in Alleppey and the other in Kottayam district. Equipped with 65 power boats, the fire personnel had displayed exemplary efforts over the past week.
The Odisha Government had also opened two helpline numbers – 1070 (Toll Free) and 0647 – 2534177 for assistance of Odia people trapped in Kerala, along with sending special trains to rescue the stranded.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already announced Rs 10 crore aid for the flood-ravaged state.
