Bride-To-Be Abducted

Keonjhar: A young woman, scheduled to be married on April 30, was allegedly abducted on Monday evening while returning from a beauty parlour in Keshadurapal village under the jurisdiction of Ghasipura police in Keonjhar district.

The victim has been identified as Rubi Parida, daughter of Bhikari Parida, a resident of Keshadurapal village.

According to family members, Rubi was returning home from a local parlour with her brother when the incident occurred. Four unidentified youths reportedly intercepted the siblings, forcibly dragged Rubi into a vehicle, and fled the scene, leaving her brother helpless.

Soon after the incident, the family rushed to Ghasipura police station and lodged a complaint. Acting on the report, a team from the Ghasipura police immediately reached the spot and initiated a probe.

Sources said police suspect the involvement of a local youth from the same village in the abduction. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive and identity of the accused.

The incident has cast a shadow over the scheduled wedding and sparked outrage in the local community.
