Balasore: The portion of a bridge on Gola river at Inchudi village in Remuna block of Balasore district has collapsed due to heavy rain. As a result, vehicular communication has been affected.
Reportedly, the guard wall of the bridge gave way to the rainwater. Locals are worried as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of more heavy rain in the coming days.
The bridge had been built eight years back when locals had raised questions about its faulty construction. They alleged that the lackadaisical attitude of the concerned officials led to its collapse.
