Jaleswar: Police on Tuesday in a major haul seized brown sugar worth Rs 27 lakh during a raid on the house of a drug peddler at Patharpura village (Malgodown Sahi) near Tower under Jaleswar police limits in Balasore district. The police have arrested one person in this connection.
According to an official communique, acting on intelligence input, a team of the Jaleswar police conducted a raid at the house of the accused in Patharpura village (Malgodown Sahi newar Tower and seized 269 gm brown sugar worth about Rs 27 lakh.
Police have seized a Nokia keypad mobile phone, Rs 2,700 in cash, one bank passbook and cheque book, five nos. of PAN Cards, polythene packets, etc.
Police have arrested one person in this connection and further enquiry is underway.
