Balasore: Jaleswar police in Balasore district have seized 300 grams of brown sugar worth approximately Rs 30 lakh and arrested a youth in this connection.
According to an official press release, acting on credible information about the possession and peddling of brown sugar by one person Jaleswar police conducted a raid under the NDPS Act near Shanti Bar under Jaleswar police limits on Tuesday and seized 300 grams of brown sugar from the possession of a youth aged 24 years.
The seized contraband is approximately worth about Rs 30 lakh, the release added.
Police have also seized Rs 6,000 in cash, two mobile phones and one motorcycle from the possession of the accused youth.
The arrested youth hails from Jhadeswarpur village under Jaleswar police limits of Balasore district, the release said.
