Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has written to all district collectors to ensure that the ongoing Odisha bandh, called by the Navnirman Krushak Sangathan, does not affect the Patana Samanta Mathematics Scholarship (PMST) examination scheduled for today.
According to reports, the examination is being held at 436 centers across the state, with students appearing between 10 am and 1 pm. The BSE has instructed district collectors to take necessary measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination, despite the bandh.
“Board had programmed on 09.01.26 to conduct PMST (Pathani Samanta Mathematics Scholarship Test) examination tomorrow i.e. on 28.01.26 from 10am to 1 pm in 463 centres all over the state. Today, it came to our knowledge through the scrolling in different electronic medias that some Farmers’ Organisation are going to stage strike in different parts of the state tomorrow i.e. on the date of our scheduled examination. Apprehending any obstruction to the to & fro of the students, you are requested to take appropriate measure for smooth reaching/leaving of examinee-students at their respective examination centres in your district jurisdiction”, read BSE President’s letter to District Collectors.
It is pertinent to mention that the Navnirman Krushak Sangathan has called for the bandh to protest issues such as paddy procurement, pollution certificates, and electricity tariffs. The Congress party has extended its support to the bandh.
