Koraput: The BSF today dismantled and neutralised two powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) concealed allegedly by the Maoists under the rock terrain in a forest near Chikenput under Machhkund PS in Koraput district.

Acting on an intelligence tip-off, the bomb disposal unit of the BSF swiftly moved to the area and conducted an extensive search operation before recovering the explosives.

According to BSF, the region was a notorious and traditional hotbed for Naxal activities.

The Maoists had planted the IEDs targeting security forces operating in the region. However, the deployment of BSF forces has profoundly transformed the security landscape, instilling a renewed sense of safety among the locals.
