BSF Personnel Unearth Multiple Maoist Ammo Dumps In Bejangiwada Forest In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: BSF personnel during a search operation in Bejangiwada reserve forest on Monday have unearthed multiple Maoist ammunition dumps near Amapadar-Elkanur village and Bodiluguda-Brundamamdi axis under Kalimela police limits of Malkangiri district.

The unearthing of the dumps has led to the recovery of 01 303 rifles, 11 barrels (SBML), 15 improvised hand grenades, 01 hand grenade with key, 3 country-made guns, 2 15mm mortar bombs, 01 country-made rocket launcher, 29 gelatin sticks, 30 electric detonators, 5 packets of aluminium nitrate, 42 303 live cartridges, 2 Bren .303 LMG spare barrel, etc.

In the wake of recovery, combing operations and search operations by the BSF are continuing in the area to make it safe for security personnel and locals.

Earlier the area used to be highly influenced by Maoists and their sympathizers.
