**Sambalpur:** One person killed and at least eight got critically injured when a speeding passenger bus collided with a car on National Highway 55 near Deogarh, under Rairakhil police limits here on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identifies as Rajesh Pandey (43), the car driver and a resident of Bolangir.
The eight injured were identified as Smruti Ranjan Sahoo (27), Deviraj Nag (25), Nishikanta Jena (24), Omprakash (18) who were travelling in the car and Girish Sahu (35) of Dhenkanal, N Sethi (60) of Rairakhol, Ramesh Routray (52) of Dhenkanal and Golapi Dehury (38), travelling in the bus.
All the injured were rushed to the VIMSAR Medical College and Hospital, Burla.
According to sources, the bus named S Kumar with number OD 15 D 0878 was travelling from Angul to Sambalpur while the car with number OD 03 G 2090 was travelling from Bolangir to Angul when the accident took place.
The police have started its investigation into this matter.
