Bhubaneswar: A bus carrying 20-25 passengers fell off a bridge and plunged into a canal near Badapada village under Pattamundai police station in Kendrapara district, leaving five passengers injured. The incident occurred in the evening when the bus was travelling from Cuttack to Jambu.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus suddenly overturned, and the driver was the first to escape through one of the doors. The passengers were then rescued one by one with the help of locals. Rescue operations were hindered due to heavy rain and darkness.

The injured passengers were rushed to the hospital with the assistance of locals. The Pattamundai fire brigade arrived at the scene and inspected the damaged bus. Local police confirmed that all passengers have been rescued, and the injured have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
