Bhubaneswar: In a bizarre incident, a stationary private bus suddenly caught fire and was reduced to ashes within an hour. The incident occurred at the Baramunda bus stand here on Monday.

Although no casualties were reported, the incident sparked panic in the area. Fire service personnel swung into action immediately and doused the flames bringing the situation under control, Fire department officials said.

Sources said that the bus named ‘Khandadhar Queen’ was parked at the Baramunda bus stand when it caught fire. No one was present near or inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. However, the vehicle was completely reduced to ashes by the time the fire was extinguished.

While the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, efforts were on to find the cause of the fire.
