Buses, Private Vehicles & Taxis To Remain Operational During Weekend Shutdown
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government extended the lockdown in all COVID-19 Containment Zones in the State until midnight of June 30. Additionally, a shutdown was imposed in the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Balangir, on all Saturdays and Sundays till June end.
The State Transport Authority clarified regarding the movement of private or public vehicles during the weekend shutdown. Their tweet said “buses and bus stands will remain operational as per orders of SRC vide 3Q5Z/ R&DM(DM), Dt.01-06-2020. The private vehicles, taxis can ply to bus stands, railway stations and airports.”

Coming to the original guidelines issued:
1: There shall be no restriction on inter-State and intra-State movement of persons and goods. No permission/ approval/ e-permit will be required for such movements.
2: Intra-State Buses, City Buses, Taxis (including cabs by aggregators like Ola, Uber, etc.), Auto Rickshaws and other Passenger Vehicles, are allowed to operate with up to sitting capacity of the vehicle, as mentioned in the Registration Certificate.
