Bhubaneswar: There will be a steep fall in novel Coronavirus cases in Odisha by September end. According to the Director of the Institute of Life Sciences, Dr Ajay Parida, the cases in the State will reach its peak in August and then there will be a downward trend.
To witness these predictions, all that people need to do is strictly follow COVID-19 guidelines such as wearing masks and social distancing. Citing the example of Ganjam, Dr Parida said that the district was most vulnerable and had a high case load.
But cases in Ganjam are reducing and so are the fatalities. Similarly, in many other districts the COVID-19 situation is stable. Odisha’s situation is under control, he said.
Delhi and Mumbai, the COVID-19 hotspots of the country could manage to flatten the curve after reaching a peak. Experts now believe, Odisha will reach its peak in August and then there will be a sharp fall in the number of COVID cases during September.
However, adherance to COVID guidelines will be the pre-requisite to witness this trend.
