Bhubaneswar: The State Government has set up a call centre to sort out issues regarding problems of citizens in implementation of Motor Vehicles Amendment Act, 2019, informed Commerce & Transport Secretary G Srinivas on Saturday.
The call centre with toll free number – 1800 345 1073 has been set up in the office of Transport Commissioner, Odisha. It will be operational from 8 AM to 10 PM. Complaints of people related to new license, harassment and wrong challan will be addressed by the control room, said Srinivas.
As many people do not possess any valid document, the department has started many pollution control centres with 10 added today and each RTO has been instructed to increase number of slots for driving license (DL) and learning license (LL).
All RTOs have also been asked to increase the pollution control centres and one month time has been given to vehicle owners to bring the pollution under control (PUC) certificate. Besides, number of days for taking test for DL has been enhanced.
Daily status on availability of Pollution Testing units, number of LLs and DLs applied and issued are being monitored at the State Level.
