Bhubaneswar: The Saheed Nagar police here have recovered Rs 10,000 out of Rs 15,000 which was stolen by a pickpocket from a cancer patient, a few days back.
The victim, Anand Kumar Gouda is suffering from cancer and had come to the Capital City for treatment. The money was stolen while he was travelling on a city bus.
The matter was taken up seriously by the police following media intervention, and Rs 10,000 of the stolen amount was recovered.
Gouda, a native of Berhampur, has thanked the Commissionerate of Police for the efforts to get his money back.
