‘Capital Region Urban Transport’ To Replace Bhubaneswar-Puri Transport Service

**Bhubaneswar: ** Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has accorded seal of approval for formation of ‘Capital Region Urban Transport’ in place of the existing Bhubaneswar-Puri Transport Service. This will be done by merger of Cuttack Transport Service with Bhubaneswar-Puri Transport Service.

This will provide bus services to the people of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Konark.

It has also been recommended to form a Board of Directors for it.

The State Development Commissioner will be its chairperson.
Besides, the respective Secretaries of Home, Commerce & Transport, Housing & Urban Development departments, Transport Commissioner, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner, Central IG, Central RDC, BDA vice chairman, Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited CEO, CDA vice chairman, PKDA vice chairman and three independent candidates having expertise in transport service will be the directors.

The pay off capital of this new organization will be Rs 1 crore. While Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) will be 60% shareholder, Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) will be holding 20% share.
