Sambalpur: Yet another elephant was found dead in the Jujumura Range of Odisha’s Sambalpur on Wednesday.
According to reports, the carcass of an elephant was spotted near Jaduloisingh village in the Jujumura Range today early morning. The estimated age of the elephant is 20 years and it is a tusker. On being informed by the villagers, a team of the Forest Department reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
It is worth mentioning here a pachyderm was electrocuted in the Sadar forest range in Sambalpur district on Sunday morning. The carcass of a tusker was found from near Khasupali of Lavdera Bolbanga Reserve Forest under Sadar Range.
Elephant deaths are not something new in Sambalpur district as similar incidents have come occurred in the district earlier too. In 2024, an elephant died under the Jujumura Range and before that an elephant died in the Redhakhol forest range.
