Card Game Victory Turns Fatal, Winner Youth Hacked To Death By Loser

Balasore: In a shocking incident, a young man allegedly murdered another youth of the same village after losing to the latter in a game of playing cards.

The accused went on a hacking spree with a bhujali (chopper) on the village road following which the victim youth succumbed to his injuries.

While the deceased has been identified as Kuna Bhol, the absconding accused is Ganesh Singh.
The incident has taken place at Tahilasahi village of Kesimahal panchayat under Nilgiri Police Station (PS) limits here in the district.

Acting on the FIR lodged by the deceased’s wife Minati, the police have initiated investigation.

Reports said that the card game was being played in the afternoon with four participants and some other villagers were witnessing it. As the accused Ganesh Singh lost the game, he entered into a heated argument with Kuna. Later, he allegedly attacked him with the lethal weapon. The fellow villagers immediately admitted him to Nilgiri sub-divisional hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

The local police swung into action by seizing the body and also raided the house of the accused. While accused Ganesh Singh was stated to be absconding, his Aadhar card has been seized by the police. A massive manhunt has been launched to nab the culprit.

Till the filing of the report, no arrest had been made and palpable tension prevailed over the village.
