**Bhubaneswar:** A case has been registered against the daughter and wife of an Additional Director General (ADG) of Odisha Police at the Capital Police Station here today based on a complaint lodged by a woman traffic constable.
Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo informed that a case has been registered against the daughter and wife of Additional Director General (ADG) of Railways and Coastal Security Pranabindu Acharya, based on a complaint lodged by traffic constable Pushpalata Bhoi.
The top cop’s daughter had allegedly violated a traffic signal at the AG Square in the State Capital on Thursday, following which she was reprimanded by Pushpalata. However, the young lady raised a ruckus at the spot alleging she was manhandled by the traffic cop.
She demanded that Pushpalata should apologise for slapping her. Acharya’s wife too came out of the car and defended her daughter and sought an explanation. However, unrelenting Pushpalata defended herself saying that she has done her duty.
Even after ADG Acharya reached at the spot the mother-daughter duo denied that they were at fault. They even argued with some other police officials and threatened to take the matter up with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
While the incident created a furore in the Capital city, the traffic cop lodged a police complaint against the duo today.
