Bhubaneswar: In a major action against corruption, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Chintan Raghuvanshi, Deputy Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Odisha, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹20 lakh from a Bhubaneswar-based mining businessman.
Officials said the arrest followed a trap operation conducted by the CBI on Thursday, after receiving credible inputs that Raghuvanshi was set to accept the bribe. The 2013-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer was reportedly caught red-handed during the operation.
After being questioned by CBI officials, Raghuvanshi was formally placed under arrest. Further investigation into the case is underway.
