Bhubaneswar: The CBI on Monday booked an Executive Engineer of the Military Engineer Services who was posted at Gopalpur on Sea on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.
The engineer’s father and a relative were intercepted by the Government Railway Police in Kota (Rajasthan) with Rs 95.89 lakh in cash. They admitted that the money belonged to the MES Engineer.
“It was further alleged that the public servant amassed huge assets by acquiring immovable property and cash during March 2012 to February 2022. The DA is estimated at Rs 1.37 crore around 134.27% of his known sources of income,” the CBI said.
A case has been registered in this connection against the MES Engineer Gulkesh Meena, his fathe rChatru Lal Meena, and one Ramavtar Meena, the Central agency added.
