**Bhubaneswar**: The Manager of Union Bank of India’s Jagatpur Branch, on the outskirts of Cuttack city, deposed before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here on Tuesday and submitted bank account details of BJD’s Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Pravat Biswal.
According to sources, the central investigative agency has intensified its investigation into the MLA’s financial transactions with the blacklisted Seashore group.
Besides, the investigative team would also verify the documents regarding the controversial land deal between Biswal’s wife Laxmi Bilasini and Seashore group.
CBI would also conduct forensic test of affidavits submitted by 11 persons who had lent money to the MLA’s wife in this case.
Notably, the MLA has already been questioned by the agency along with his wife Laxmi Bilasini in 2014 and last year over their alleged links in the multi-crore scam.
Laxmi Bilasini had informed that she had sold a plot of land measuring 32 ‘gunthas’ at Benapur village in Jajpur district for Rs 25 lakhs to the Seashore group in 2011.
Later, the deal was cancelled and Seashore group was repaid with the amount in cash.
However, the CBI is not convinced with her story and conducting probe into it.
