**Bhubaneswar**: A day after Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay was sent to a 6-day CBI remand in connection with Rose Valley chit fund scam, his wife Nayna Bandyopadhyay arrived at the regional office of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here in Odisha capital on Thursday.
Nayna alleged political vendetta as the reason behind the arrest of her husband.
Nayna, TMC’s Chowringhee MLA, also alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is using the central investigation agency for its political benefits.
She said, “It’s quite clear that the BJP is taking advantage of CBI. Back to back arrest of two TMC leaders proves how the investigative agency is being used for political vendetta.”
However, it is not clear whether Nayna deposed before the CBI or went to the office on her own. She spent around one hour in the office.
The Special CBI Court here on Wednesday rejected Bandyopadhyay’s bail plea and sent him to a six-day custody for his alleged involvement in Rs 17,000 crore Rose Valley group chit fund scam.
Sudip’s arrest came days after the arrest of another party MP Tapas Paul in the same case.
The Rose Valley Group has been accused of duping investors of about Rs 17,000 crores from across the country. Bandyopadhyay and Pal are accused of promoting the ponzi firm.
