Bhubaneswar: A team of CBI sleuths conducted a search operation at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, following allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process.
According to reports, the investigation was launched after the CBI came to know that four individuals had secured jobs at AIIMS using forged documents and fake certificates.
A central PSU had conducted a written examination in 2023-24 for four positions at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, including two posts each of sanitary inspector and medical record technician. However, the CBI recently received a complaint alleging that fake certificates, including fabricated work experience letters, were used to secure these jobs, said reports.
It is learnt that the four suspects, who were selected for the posts, had previously worked as temporary employees at AIIMS through an outsourced agency. The CBI’s search operation aimed to uncover evidence related to these alleged irregularities.
In addition to the ongoing probe, the CBI is also examining the involvement of a middleman linked to the outsourcing company. The middleman is suspected to be the main architect behind the recruitment irregularity, according to sources.
