Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in a late evening operation on Saturday, seized a substantial amount of cash from a luxury vehicle in the city.
The seizure was made near the Mayfair Hotel when CBI officials, in coordination with local police, intercepted a Mercedes Maybach suspected to be involved in the case.
According to sources, a Central government official and a prominent realtor were reportedly traveling in the vehicle at the time. Following the interception, the cash was confiscated, and the vehicle’s occupants were taken to the CBI’s regional office for questioning.
While the incident has sparked curiosity and speculation, both the CBI officials and the police present at the scene declined to comment, citing a lack of authorization to disclose details about the case.
