Bhubaneswar: In the capital city of Odisha, a CCTV capture has surfaced which has raised questions on the safety of girls. A minor girl was stalked and molested in the Sadar Sahi Lane of Laxmisagar area in broad daylight. On 21st of this month, the girl was going to attend her tuitions at around 5:42 am on her cycle when a middle aged man on a scooter started stalking her.
Seeing her alone on the street, he went closer and molested her. The whole act was captured by a CCTV installed nearby. The girl immediately rushed back home and informed her parents. They lodged an FIR on the same evening.
It has been six days but the Police is yet to nab the culprit. The girl’s family members are crying foul play as the number plate of the man is captured in the footage, and the Police has not yet succeeded in arresting the accused.
The accused has been booked under the POCSO Act, and IPC 323, 354 and 341.
“The police is investigating the incident and will soon arrest the culprit,” informed ACP Sanjay Singh.
