Centenarian Freedom Fighter Nilamani Samal Passes Away

Freedom-fighter Nilamani Samal

Bhubaneswar: Centenarian freedom fighter Nilamani Samal passed away at the age of 102 years today. Samal died while undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.

He was undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Medicine Department for the last three days following a brain stroke. A special four-member team of doctors was attending to him.

Samal was the president of the All Odisha Freedom Fighters’ Association. He was imprisoned for three years during the freedom struggle.
