Bhubaneswar: A six-member Central team will be visiting the flood-affected areas of Jajpur and Puri districts for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage caused by the recent flood.
After making a damage assessment of farmlands, roads and houses in these areas the team will return to Bhubaneswar and hold a meeting with Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy today evening. The State Government will submit a detailed report on flood damage which the team will present, in addition to its own findings, to the Centre.
An inter-ministerial team led by Praveen Vashista, Joint Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had arrived in Odisha yesterday on a two-day visit. They had visited the Bhadrak district and assessed the extensive damage in four blocks due to the flooded Baitarini river.
