Bhubaneswar: An inter-ministerial team is on a three-day visit to Odisha to take stock of the extent of damage inflicted by cyclone Fani which hit the state on May 3.
The team comprising of senior officials from various departments of both Central Government and the State government bifurcated into two sub-teams and toured Puri and Khurda respectively on Monday.
The inter-ministerial team led by Vivek Bharadwaj, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, visited Arakhakuda in Krushnaprasad block and Hasinapur village in Brahmagiri of Puri district.
The team made an assessment of the damage and discussed issues pertaining to the cyclone-affected population of these places. Industries secretary Sanjeev chopra and Puri Collector Balwant Singh accompanied the team.
Another team, led by Director, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (New Delhi), Ajay Kumar visited Jatni municipality in Khurda district. Kumar’s team made an assessment of the losses in Haripur, Benapanjari, Arugul and Jatni during the tour.
