Bhubaneswar: The Central Government has approved a new Amrit Bharat train service connecting Odisha with Assam and Telangana, aiming to enhance rail connectivity in the region. The train will run between Kamakhya in Assam and Cherlapally (Sikandrabad) in Telangana, passing through key Odisha stations including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khordha Road, Balugaon, and Berhampur.
Additionally, two special trains have been regularized: the 18403/18404 Bhubaneswar-Dhanbad Special Train and the 08439/08440 Puri-Patna Special Train. These trains will provide improved connectivity, benefiting passengers in Odisha and neighbouring states.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had previously discussed the need for enhanced rail services with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who subsequently informed the Chief Minister about the approvals via letter.
Majhi has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Vaishnaw for their support in boosting Odisha’s rail infrastructure.
