Bhubaneswar: Odisha CEO Nikunja Bihari Dhal said, “Today nearly 79.70 lakh voters are going to vote at 9,162 polling stations” on Monday.
In his media address, CEO Dhal said, “The voters’ turn-out till 9.00 am is nearly about 7%. However, there is a minor discrepancy in the voters’ turnout, as the percentages for the parliamentary constituency reflected as 9.87%, whereas for the assembly constituency, it showed 6.99%. It happened due to a 30-minute delay in data entry of parliamentary data.”
I can assure you that this time polling is going to be good, and peaceful, and all the facilities have been provided for the voters, said Dhal.
CEO expressed his joy to witness the impressive voting figures in the urban area which includes two assembly constituencies Raghunathpali and Rourkela, falling under Rourkela, Steel City.
The voting percentage recorded in Raghunathpali is 9%, and 7% in Rourkela assembly constituencies.
Naxalite-affected areas of Kalahandi have witnessed a voting percentage of 8.22% for G-Udaygiri and about 7% in Baliguda.
EVM machines have been replaced at various places, including 70 Ballot Units (BU), 85 Control Units (CU), and 167 VVPAT units, said the CEO.
CEO Dhal said, “We can see the live web-casting from more than 5400 polling stations out of 9,162. I have also decided to allow media to take still photographs of the web-casting control room, where you can have the feel of the situation.”
Concluding the press conference, the CEO appealed to voters in Odia, & Sambalpuri language to come forward and vote.
