Bhubaneswar: Chief Electoral Officer Sushil Kumar Lohani on Tuesday visited poll-bound Padampur and reviewed the preparations for the upcoming bypolls.
He reviewed the law and order situation in the referendum and discussed with the district administration. The CEO discussed with officials on cases of violation of moral code of conduct in Padampur.
On the occasion, Lohani held meetings with the SP and Collector of Bargarh and directed them to take immediate action on violation of code of conduct.
Apart from taking stock of overall scenario in the town, he also visited the counting center and strong room.
After the review, the CEO requested the political parties for the smooth elections. By-elections for Padampur assembly segment will be held on December 5.
Three major political parties have intensified their campaign for this.
