Cuttack: Mangalabag Police on Monday filed a charge sheet against seven doctors of SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack for allegedly assaulting a lawyer in October last year.
Reportedly, the charge sheet has been filed following the directive of the Orissa High Court in connection with the case of assault on lawyer Sapan Kumar Pal at the premier medical institution.
Pal had taken one of his relatives to SCBMC&H on October 21, 2021, for medical treatment when he was allegedly attacked by doctors after he questioned them regarding the way they are treating the patients and their relatives.
He had lodged a complaint with the Mangalabag Police Station and later filed a petition at the Orissa High Court alleging police inaction. The High Court had sought a reply in this regard from Cuttack DCP.
